Frequently Asked Questions

In regard to linens what should I bring?
What linens you bring all depends upon where you are staying while at Camp McPherson. If you are staying in the Lodge, the Chalet or in the Kurtz Retreat Center, then all bedding and towels are taken care of. When rooming in the dorms and, of course, tents and campers you must provide all towels and bedding (or sleeping bags).

What is the cost to use your paintball facility? How many courses are there?
Rental of mask/gun/250 paintballs - $20/1.5 hour, $30/3 hour
Additional Paintballs – per 100 $5.00
There are three courses available for play, two wooded courses and a quick course.

How should we dress for paintball?
It really depends upon the weather as to the amount of layers, but regardless of the temperature we recommend full length pants and long sleeve shirts (Looser the better).
When hit with a paintball it may “sting” a little and when it directly hits skin, well, you guessed it. It stings more. We do suggest camouflage or dark browns, greens it helps you from becoming a walking target. Helmets with faceshields are provided with the rental and are required to be worn at all times when playing or near the field. I have found that if you wear glasses it would help if you have one of those small eyeglass cleaners with an anti-fogger ingredient. If you dress properly you’ll enjoy the game much more. Have fun!

Is there a nurse on staff?
No, we do not keep a nurse on staff, it is up to the renters to provide their own nurse. If you have difficulty providing a nurse we will aid you having a nurse on grounds but we will need to have a month notice. There will be an additional charge for the staff nurse.

Should we bring our own sports gear or is it available?
The camp has most sporting gear available. The only gear someone will need to bring is a glove for softball and any personal bats. We have some softball bats and balls. The sports equipment can be checked out at the Chapel/Game room.

What are the pricings for camping?
Camp McPherson offers many types of camping and rooms. A camper may find themselves in a “hotel like room” in the lodge or in their own camper or, may be a tent. Many of our camping groups use a variety of camping options. On top of that many various menus are available. Due to these options it would demand a confusing matrix of pricing. We tailor the camping experience to the needs of the organization. Call or e-mail us and you will be pleased at the possibilities.

Do you allow RV camping?
Yes, we do offer RV camping under some restrictions. Those limitations involve around the rental of the camp by large organizations or during Foursquare District camping (end of June and through July). If you are attending a District Camp you are welcome to camp in your RV. Make sure you make your reservations.

Can we camp anytime during the summer?
It really depends upon the current camping schedule. Some camps rent the entire facility and we do have limitations in regard to the Lodge and percent of occupation. We are here to serve people, so we make every attempt to accommodate any request. Contact us.

Can a family or individual come for a couple of days and rent the Chalet?
Yes, you can come as a family, couple or for your own individual retreat.
