Make a Difference
Financial:
As a nonprofit and self-sufficient camp the
financial gifts of supporters are vital for
the current and future viability of the camp.
As a Christian retreat center that has its mission in serving the
church body we make every attempt to keep our
charges at a minimum while still being good
stewards of the camp’s financial requirements.
Through the use of grants and gifts, Camp McPherson
is able to perform more extensive renovations
and maintenance and set funds aside for new
facilities that meet the needs of our present
and future guests. As in seeding time and property,
there are many ways that a supporter of the
camp can “Make a Difference”. Donations
to the camp are tax deductible if you itemize.
As always consult with your tax accountant.
Kurtz Retreat Center
– The newly renovated Kurtz Retreat Center
opened it doors in the summer of 2003. The facility
was dedicated to the memory of Eugene Kurtz
during Family Camp of 2004. Several churches
and individuals have contributed to the renovation
of the center. Rooms were purchased for $1,000.00
and other contributions of various sizes have been noted on a plaque in the lounge area. The Board of Directors, the Kurtz Family and the staff of Camp McPherson want to thank each of the Churches and individuals that lent support for this project. When you have a small group activity consider staying in the Kurtz Retreat Center. Please contact
the Camp Office for your reservations.
Roadway Project - Camp McPherson sits on a beautiful piece of property near the Mohican State Park. When visitors throughout the country come they are impressed with the green rolling hills and fall colors. A maintenance problem that rolling hills present to our roadways is the washing away of the base when we have heavy rains. An important project for the camp is the paving of the main roadway that runs from our entrance on Shadley Valley to the top of the hill where the Tabernacle sits. The paving will reduce the maintenance cost of the camp, provide easier access to the Tabernacle and create a safer environment at the camp by eliminating the tripping and fall hazards that are created by the washing away of the road base. Please assist us in providing a safer and more cost effective camp, you can send directed donation to the address below:
